This work reports on the electrochemical kinetic analysis of carbon steel powders produced during milling chips for 2, 3, and 5 h under an air atmosphere in a high-energy ball miller. aims to fill gap literature regarding transformation processes that affect powder production. information can be crucial specific metallurgy systems. The results obtained using Rietveld refinement method showed decrease crystallite size, increase microstrain, no changes lattice parameter with process. revealed strong influence anodic electroactivity time NaCl solution, contrast NaOH, where process was not significant. These clearly show significant role chloride ions preventing formation passive film solution notoriously inhibits both cathodic reactions NaOH solution. novelty this lies experimental demonstration milling’s surface properties directly their response.
